Novocherkassk, June 7, 2018 – Novocherkassk Electrode Plant (part of the ENERGOPROM Group) has loaded the first batch of graphite electrodes into a new baking furnace. The modern heating unit is designed to produce electrodes with diameters of 610 mm, 650 mm, and 710 mm. The equipment was launched as part of an investment program aimed at reequipping production facilities with a focus on the production of large-size electrodes for electric arc furnaces.

The new baking furnace has a capacity of more than 1,000 tons per month. Efficient use of furnace chamber loading will make it possible to fire large diameter electrodes. As a result, capacity will increase by 25%.

As part of the program to reequipment production facilities in 2017–2018, the plant is reconstructing and repairing all existing baking furnaces, which will significantly improve the electrode production capacity and improve its quality.
