Novosibirsk, July 2024: El 6 Novosibirsk branch is permitted by Russian Railways to handle all types of containers, including large-tonnage containers of up to 41 tons.
Direct container shipments by rail will enable the company to implement any delivery schemes without additional packing operations en route, as container transportation makes delivery very fast and provides cargo safety.
In addition, container shipments of electrode products are up to 1.5-fold less expensive than those carried in covered railroad cars and enable direct door-to-door deliveries.
“Container transportation has proven itself in domestic and export/import directions, – explained Alexey Spektoruk, Director of El 6 Novosibirsk. – The company has used them before, although sending cargo through terminals. That required extra time and more financial costs. We can now handle containers in-house, resulting in significant savings in logistics costs.”
In the context of growing cargo transportation, Russian Railways’ priority is providing a transport corridor for container deliveries. With the ability to carry out direct shipment of products in containers, El 6 has gained a competitive advantage over many other shippers.
