Chelyabinsk Electrode Plant's Output Increased 40 % in 2017
As of year-end 2017 Energoprom – Chelyabinsk Electrode Plant (EPM – ChEP) manufactured 70 thousand tons of products, which is more than 40% above the planned indicators.

In anode block being the core product of the plant the program has been above the target by nearly 10 thousand tons. This was due to the growth of OK RUSAL's order and to company's portfolio expansion represented by its new consumer Eti Aluminium (Turkey).
Also an increase was in the output of PBTG (petroleum based technical graphite) and PBTAG (petroleum based technical annealed graphite) blanks. Here the above-target performance totaled 4 and 5 tons, respectively. These products are manufactured under the intra-plant cooperation program aimed at increasing the output of graphitized electrodes in Novocherkassk and Novosibirsk plants of the ENERGOPROM Group.
Alexei Zalesov, the Managing Director of Energoprom – Chelyabinsk Electrode Plant, noted, "The above-target performance has been secured by more efficient management of production processes and repair programs. In addition to that, we paid much attention to the product quality; global quality leaders have been engaged. For example, R&D Carbon from Switzerland and SCCR from Australia being recognized experts in the graphitized carbon."
He also emphasized that the volume of shipments reaching 70,594 tons is company's record, as a minimum, for the recent five years after the anode factory was launched in 2012. As a whole, the graphitized carbon production is approaching the indicators of the early 2000s when shipments made 80-90 thousand tons.
