EL 6 GROUP HELD THE FIRST PRODUCTION AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE THE ROLE OF CARBON-GRAPHITE PRODUCTS IN METALLURGY
Moscow, May 25, 2022: Over 70 representatives of the metallurgical industry from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Georgia met on May 19-20 in Saint Petersburg at the conference called The Role of Carbon-Graphite Products in Metallurgy, which was organized by the El 6 Group for engineering specialists of major metallurgical companies.
The conference addressed a range of issues, such as the situation in the carbon-graphite market, main directions of El 6 development, production methods and latest quality management methods.
Representatives of the El 6 Group told the participants of the event about the modernization of the main processing lines of the production sites, introduced investment projects and prospects for the construction of new facilities.
One of the most discussed topics was New Products and Technologies from El 6. There was also great interest in the reports by Dmitry Elansky, Chair of the Department of Electrometallurgy at Vyksa Branch of MISIS (Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys): "Analysis of Major Trends in Metallurgy" and "Carbon Footprint in Metallurgy".
Four round tables were held at the conference: Aluminum, Steel, Ferroalloys, and Magnesium/Calcium Electrolysis.
“In the current market context, only an absolutely open-minded conversation allows you to build effective relationships with customers,” said Leonid Marmur, Sales Director of El 6.
– “Steelmakers are concerned about the safety of their companies' operations. Our colleagues need to understand how stable we are. I think that our experts have answered all the questions regarding El 6 technology, production support and development prospects. I am sure, this will raise confidence in our consumers that we are making continuous efforts to improve the quality of our products and increase supplies that we can guarantee.”
As a result of the conference, it was decided to hold it annually.
El 6 (previously EPM Group) is Russia’s major carbon-graphite producer. Its core business is production of high-tech electrode, cathode and other carbon-graphite products for enterprises of the steel, aluminum, ferroalloy, silicon, chemical, and machine-building industries. It includes three production sites in El 6 Novosibirsk, El 6 Novocherkassk and El 6 Chelyabinsk.
