EL 6 NOVOCHERKASSK STARTED PRODUCING GRAPHITED UHP ELECTRODES WITH A DIAMETER OF 750 MM ON NEEDLE COKE
Novocherkassk, October 2024: El 6 Novocherkassk has started production of high-quality graphite electrodes of the EGSP(special impregnated graphitized electrode)-UHP grade with a diameter of 750 mm on needle coke.
The first batch of large-size electrodes has successfully passed all stages of production. The equipment has proven its high efficiency in working with large diameter and heavy workpieces. A workpiece with a rated diameter of 750 mm (762-765 mm) weighs 0.4 tons more than the previously produced maximum workpiece with a diameter of 710 mm.
Based on the results of the audit of the technological production chain of a new product – large-diameter graphite electrodes – by the metallurgical client of El 6, the level of compliance of the quality management system was assessed as high. El 6 was approved as a supplier of EGSP-UHP grade electrodes with a diameter of 750 mm.
