Novosibirsk, 3.06.2024: EL 6 Novosibirsk launched a station for packing granular carbon-containing materials into kraft bags.

The new packaging machine is designed for packing granules into kraft bags – multilayered paper bags weighing 20, 25, and 30 kg. The equipment capacity allows filling up to 350 bags per hour with high dosing and weighing accuracy.

The production line for granular carbon-containing materials includes units for dosing and mixing components, a granulator, and packaging equipment.

Supply of granules in kraft bags is a convenient format for metallurgists. Each bag is hermetically sealed to prevent the entry of foreign matters that could affect the final properties of steel and cast iron.

Since 2023, EL 6 Novosibirsk has been recycling aspiration dust and fine fractions sifted out from graphite shavings into granules. The carbon content in such materials is up to 99 %, which makes it possible to use them in metallurgy to increase the carbon content when smelting steel and cast iron in induction and arc-type furnaces.

The first 20 tons of carbon-containing granular material packed in kraft bags were sent to the consumer in Sverdlovsk region.
