REPRESENTATIVES OF 76 COMPANIES ATTENDED THE III INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE EL 6 GROUP
May 15–17, 2024, Suzdal: The III International Production and Technical Conference "The Role of Carbon Graphite Products in Metallurgy"
For the third year in a row, the EL 6 Company gathers representatives of the metallurgical, carbon-graphite, oil and gas, and mechanical engineering industries, and representatives of research institutes and universities for open discussion of the sector's current production and technical issues. The demand for the discussion platform is growing; the number of conference participants in 2024 was 161 people representing 76 companies from 5 countries: Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Russia.
Leonid Marmur, Deputy General Director – Commercial Director of El 6: "At the III Conference, we have expanded the topics of presentations, proposing today to discuss the role of graphite and carbon-based products not only in metallurgy but also in the industry in general, since their role is really huge. The event is expanding not only in the number of participants but also in geography. The more feedback we receive from our customers, the better we understand them to adjust our processes. Our intention is to create an independent platform for discussing all aspects of using graphite and carbon-based products in various industries."
Over two days, speakers made 14 presentations on the situation in the market for graphite and carbon-based products, the prospects for needle coke production in Russia, the state of the national ferroalloy and refractory industry, the scrap metal market, the current trends in the manufacture of artificial graphite products, the digital twins for electrode production, and decarbonization of ferrous metallurgy in the Russian Federation.
Traditionally, one of the most significant moments of the Conference were the discussions at thematic roundtables: "Steel", "Aluminum", "Ferroalloys", and "Structural Products" which were dedicated to the processes of improving the quality and production technology of graphite electrodes, cathode blocks, structural graphite-made products, carbon-containing materials, and electrode masses.
Based on the results of the III International Production and Technical Conference, a resolution will be published on the event's official website.
