Novocherkassk Electrode Plant Started Preparatory Works for New RIEDHAMMER Furnace
Novocherkassk, November 02, 2018. EPM-Novocherkassk Electrode Plant (EPM-NEP, part of EPM Group) launched an investment project for the construction of a modern RIEDHAMMER incipient roasting ring furnace. The new furnace will be built in the baking shop in place of decommissioned equipment, and preparatory general construction works are underway.
Delivery of the main and auxiliary equipment of the furnace is scheduled for the 1st half of 2019. All works on the project shall be carried out in strict accordance with the approved schedule. RIEDHAMMER incipient roasting ring furnace is scheduled for commissioning in Q4 2019. The total cost of the project will be more than RUB 1.5 billion.
Managing Director of EPM-NEP Evgeniy Churikov noted: “The construction of the modern furnace is a key investment project of our Plant aimed at improving the quality and increasing the output of graphite electrodes with diameter of 610 mm.”
RIEDHAMMER furnace significantly exceeds the current counterparts in terms of process KPIs and provides high performance, premium product quality, control automation and allows achieving reference indices in terms of ecology and energy efficiency.
